BROWARD COUNTY ALUMNAE CHAPTER

Public Service

The Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. works tirelessly to enhance our community through its many public service programs. These include the Adopt a Street Program, March of Dimes March for Babies, Relay for Life, and honoring and supporting partner businesses in the community.

Adopt-A-Street

The year 2014 marked the beginning of Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s partnership with the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Adopt-A-Street program. The Adopt-A-Street program offers a hands-on approach to city beautification through litter removal and maintenance of designated streets by civic-minded organizations. Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. adopted Northwest 21st Avenue from Northwest 19th to Northwest 26th Street. This corridor houses the Kathleen C. Wright Education and Development Center. Affectionately known as the “Delta House,” the center is located at 2250 Northwest 21st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The program allows the City of Fort Lauderdale residents and organizations to take an active role in the community while benefiting from a more attractive city.

Food Distribution

The Broward County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. partnered with Senator Thurston & Representative DuBose to distribute food to underserved members of our Broward County community.
