DESCRIPTION:The fight against cancer goes on. Most of us know of a friend or relative who has battled this terrible illness. There is a way we can fight this disease – through the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. On May 13\, 2022 from 6:00pm until 12:00am we will take to the track to support American Cancer Society’s (AS) effort to end cancer. The Relay will be held at Joseph C. Carter Park\, 1450 W. Sunrise Blvd\, Ft. Lauderdale\, FL. Come out and enjoy an evening of financial and emotional support for all those touched by this terrible disease. ACS is looking to us to provide the same support that we provide annually to this event. BCAC is committed to supporting this community and we do that by walking on the track for 6 hours and/or donating to the cause. This year the goal to raise $5\,000.\n\n\n\nLast year we finished as the top fundraising team! ACS is looking to us to provide that same type of support this year. DESCRIPTION:Unlike past conferences\, this year will focus specifically on Social Justice in America. Due to COVID-19\, the conference will be a one-day socially distanced in-person conference focused on social justice leadership activation. The conference will take place at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. \n​On September 11\, 2021 the event will kick off the day helping women of color to understand we all have a role to play in the social justice movement and how we can lead from where we stand. Attendees will hear from nationally renowned speakers\, participate in thought-provoking breakout sessions and network with other leaders throughout the state and nation. There will be leaders present from a variety of professional sectors\, including law\, government\, business\, technology\, not-for-profit\, medicine\, academia and more. \nThe Women of Color Empowerment Conference has evolved into a “must attend” conference for leaders\, especially women of color. The conference sells out weeks in advance and offers unparalleled programming. Attendees leave the conference refreshed and with the realization that there is value in forming relationships with other high energy\, motivated and accomplished professionals.
